About
(photo on my wedding day by my friend, Channing Johnson)
Hello, and thanks for visiting my site!
My name is Yoon. Back when I was in grad school studying photojournalism at Ohio University, a student I taught in an undergraduate class called me “yooners.” The name stuck.
Couples choose to work with me because my work feels real, authentic, and somewhat imperfect. They want their wedding to be documented as-is, and they want the events of the day to unfold naturally.
I’ve worked as a documentary photographer and photojournalist for almost 20 years. I don’t shoot in a “photojournalistic style,” I am a photojournalist. I regularly work for The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and The Boston Globe. Commercial clients hire me for the same documentary approach. See more of that work here.
If my work and approach sound like a good fit for your needs, I’d love to chat. Congratulations on your engagement! I hope we get the chance to work together.
